Inspirational Friendships at La Cueva High

The power of friendship filled the air on January 20th at La Cueva High School during their Match Party. Participants had a potluck during lunch and were paired in one-to-one friendship with peers who shared their interest.
When asked about the Match Party, La Cueva Chapter President, Miranda Zamora, stated:
The match party went really well. It was a little bit quiet in the room at first, but after everyone warmed up and started eating, things got much better. I got to meet my buddy Lindsey! [insert Lindsey and Miranda.jpeg Caption: Lindsey and Miranda take a break from the party to pose for the camera] We talked about her hobbies, like bowling and swimming, and also started talking about things we could do together. We talked about taking my puppy for a walk and having her teach me some bowling tips!
By the end of the party everyone seemed really excited to finally get a start on their friendships. We ended the meeting by going over some of our upcoming activities and reminded everyone of the commitment they had made by signing up.
In total, ten new friendships were formed at La Cueva! Each pair commits to keeping in contact at least once a week and spending quality time twice a month. The chapter at La Cueva High School is off to an amazing start! The immediate connection between Buddy pairs is extremely inspirational.
